Parks & Recreation
The department proudly boasts five parks with more than 106 acres of ground, that includes a campground, water park and 9-hole public golf course. The Parks Commission consists of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. For more information about the park system, contact the department at 573-437-8231.
NOTICE: As of 10.30.2020, park system drinking fountains and restrooms have been witnerzied for the winter and will remain closed until after April 1, weather permitting. The restrooms in Memorial Park by Pavilion 4 are heated and will remain open, but locked nightly. Park users are encouraged to bring a water bottle and hand sanitizer when visiting the parks.
IMPORTANT: PARK AREAS AND FACILITIES ARE NOT BEING MONITORED FOR CONTAMINATION OF COVID-19. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. While using the parks, trails, campgound and golf course, it is imperative to continue to practice proper social distancing with a minimum of 6 feet from other persons at all times, share the trail and warn other trail users of presence and passing, bring own hand sanitizer and water, practice good hygiene and do not use parks, trails, campground or golf course if not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms.
